This talk will introduce the KARL STORZ VITOM® Visualization System for open surgery. The speaker will present his personal experience of the use of the system in teaching and clinical practice. The presentation will describe the system, its component parts, and its applications. Numerous video presentations of clinical cases will be used to illustrate the practical use of the system.

Rob is Professor of Small Animal Surgery at the School of Veterinary Medicine and Science, University of Nottingham, UK. Rob has spent his career practicing and teaching in the field of small animal soft tissue surgery, having worked in academia, private practice and industry. He is a Diplomate of the European College of Veterinary Surgeons and holds the RCVS Diploma in Small Animal Surgery (Soft Tissue). In 2002, Rob was awarded the BSAVA Simon Award for outstanding contributions to veterinary surgery and, in 2016, he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons for Meritorious Contributions to Clinical Practice. Most recently in 2020, he was awarded the Higher Doctorate of Science from the University of Nottingham for his clinical research into congenital portosystemic shunts. Rob is recognised as both an RCVS and a European Specialist in Small Animal Surgery.
