Getting Started with Laparoscopic Suturing - Webinar


This talk will discuss the application of MIS suturing and knot tying in small animal clinical cases, and how to effectively and quickly obtain the skills needed.

Boel Anita Fransson, DVM, DACVS, ACVS Founding Fellow MIS

Dr. Fransson is a faculty member and surgeon at Washington State University where she obtained Professor in Small Animal Surgery rank in 2018.  She graduated from Veterinary School in Uppsala, Sweden and underwent intern and residency training at Washington State University. She became an ACVS diplomate in 2003.  Her research focus is minimally invasive surgery and her research program has included development of the first laparoscopic skills training laboratory dedicated to veterinary surgeons. Together with a number of faculty at other institutions she spearheaded development of the Veterinary Assessment of Laparoscopic Skills (VALS) training and assessment program. She is one of the editors for the first textbook dedicated to small animal MIS, Small Animal Laparoscopy and Thoracoscopy.
